Who we are

The people behind the phone, and the trucks behind them

A pest control company that runs its own jobs from two offices on the Wasatch Front. Here's how we work, where we work and who writes our guides.

How we started working this way

Local pest control, done the careful way

Craig's Pest Service treats homes and businesses across Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, Box Elder, Morgan, Tooele and Utah counties. Our service office sits on Redwood Road in northwest Salt Lake City, and our head office is in Clearfield, in the middle of Davis County.

We built the business around a simple idea: inspect before you treat. Salt Lake homes get the pests they do because of window wells, older foundations, sunny walls and the valley's seasons, and a treatment only works when it goes where the pest actually lives and gets in.

We answer the phone around the clock. Most calls go straight onto our own schedule; on the rare day every truck is committed, or when an emergency can't wait, we may pass the call to another reputable local company so you still get help.

How we work

What you can expect on every visit

Inspect first

Every visit starts with the window wells, garage, foundation and wherever you've seen activity.

Treat where it lives

Baits and dusts go into voids and runways, not across your floors.

Close the gaps

We point out or seal the entry points pests use, so problems stay solved.

Explain it plainly

You hear what we found, what we used and what you can do between visits.

Our guides editor

Alvin Fairbanks, Pest Control Guides Editor

Alvin Fairbanks edits the Pest Library, our set of plain-language guides for Salt Lake homeowners. Each article starts from the questions people ask us on the phone, like whether the spider in the window well is a black widow or when to treat for boxelder bugs.

Every guide is checked against published sources, mainly Utah State University Extension, the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, county health departments and the mosquito abatement districts, and those sources are linked at the bottom of each article. Prices in the guides come from published cost guides and are labeled as market ranges, not quotes.
